The Agency activities are aimed to:

·   Control of driving forces and pressures due to human activities (emissions, wastes, soil exploitation, radiations, etc.) and their impacts to the environment.

·   Monitor environmental status as it is determined by the quality level of the matrices (water, air, soil, etc.) involved

·   Give technical support to Governmental departments in finding and developing solutions (plans, projects, etc.) to environmental problems.

Activities planned in Desertnet 2

ARPAS, supported by the Agrometeorological Service of Sardinia, will continue and develop project activities started in Desertnet 1, as follows:

-          complete and share in Desertnet 2 platform the cartography of Environmentally Sensitive Areas to Desertification (scale 1:100’000 and 1:250’000) in a WEB-GIS format

-          share our expertise in collecting, managing and spatializing meteorological and climatic data in order to properly estimate climate quality indicators and to map meteorological features also for desertification studies

-          upload documents, publications and national and international meeting proceedings on climate change and desertification and related issues
